Oldboy jung

Oldboy Jung is the latest alter-ego of producer and label boss Martin Warnes. Throughout a long career he has covered most genres from bhangra to prog-rock, starting in the mid 80's with seminal Leeds band 'Dredd & The Badass Weeds' whose line-up included Andy Spearpoint (New Fads) and Keith Langley (Utah Saints).

A move to London followed where he set up a studio and began recording dance music for a variety of labels including Fluid and Temple, releasing the Pro-Log album as Vallenato in 1994. During the early 90's he became involved in the nascent drum & bass scene, recording tracks like Dub Culture's 'Herb n' Decay' ep and 'The Box Re-opens' by Kemet Crew. In 1995 he became A&R manager for Pterodactyl Records, compiling the 'Snare Pressure' compilation and producing artists such as Cujo (Amon Tobin), Strange Attractors, Missin' and Phaze III & Klass A. At the same time he signed for Ninebar Records as Resonator (see discog here) and put together a live band for a short series of gigs that went down well with both audiences and promoters.

Recently he has been recording new material for release on The New Underground, and doing remixes for local artists including The Ferocious Ladoo's.
